Automatic creation of warehouser product in EWM (S4HANA 1809)

Hi,

I have a requirement to create to EWM warehouse product automatically when it is created in S4.

Can some one letme know if we have this option available.

In the warehouse number control, I see an option of "Control CIF behavior". I heard with this option as X in the configuration, warehouse product will be created.

But I cant see it in configuration. Will it be applicable only for Decentral EWM systems? or Embedded also it works, because I cant see this field in the control settings.

Kindly advise if there is any option to create warehouse product automatically.

Hi,

if you can't use Basic EWM, and can't use Slotting - you also can not set the 2-Step picking flag. As this requires wave management and AFAIK also wave management is not part of Basic EWM. 😉

As I wrote above, for the time being there is no function to automatically create the warehouse product in embedded EWM. But that does not really make a huge difference from a process standpoint if you have used WM up to now. Also for WM you had to create the WM views manually, there was never a way to do that automatically. And there you had to create the views, if you maintain anything in details or not. OK, it is a little bit annoying that in EWM you have to do this in a separate transaction, but again, therefore you only need to do that for products where you really need to set a warehouse specific parameter.

Thanks Juergen for your detailed explanation, we are planning to use custom transaction which creates the EWM warehouse product automatically. For some products which are already in Current ECC we use warehouse monitor for creating them in EWM.

Assuming you mean embedded EWM (from the text following): not for the time being.

The automatic creation through the setting "Control CIF behaviour" in the warehouse number only works for the decentral EWM based on SAP NetWeaver (not based on S/4HANA) - as in all other circumstances you have no CIF.

But why should the warehouse product be created automatically anyway? What for?

One option to consider is Slotting. With that the warehouse product can be created automatically.

Thanks for your reply Juergen.

My client is currently on ECC and they are implementing S41809, embedded EWM.

So, the requirement from client is to create the warehouse product also automatic. After that required parameters like PACI, SRCI, Bulk indicator, Cycle count, 2 Step, Replenishment settings, we want to maintain using Monitor or any other mass program that is not decided yet.

We are implementing Basic EWM, so I heard we cant use Slotting option, as it is part of advanced EWM.
