Is there any place where I can find some simple steps on the purpose of creating an event and some details? Thanks

you can find in help.sap.com,

try to click 'search documentation' and option 'netweaver', keyword 'create event',

not sure today seems the trex not work properly or something wrong

Defining Events

Use transaction SM62 to define and display events.

To define an event, do the following:

Enter transaction SM62.

Select User event description

System events are reserved for SAP's use.

In the maintenance screen, enter the name of the event as it appears in your program and a brief description.

You do not need to define event arguments.
