Hello Experts,
I need help on object dependency for class and characteristics,
Scenario:
CL0001 (Generic Data) has CH0001 (Type of Component) characteristics and is assigned to a DMS Document class type 017.
We have bunch of other class created for DMS Document as listed below,
CL0002 - Piston
CL0003 - Crank Shaft
CL0004 - Engine Block
I am looking for a solution where if CL0002 is assigned to DMS document the CH0001 should be assigned with value "Piston", if CL003 is assigned to DMS document CH0001 should be assigned with value "Crank Shaft".
Can you please help me with the Syntax and which object dependency will help me attain this solution.

Hello,
I do not think this is possible with DMS. If you were doing this with class type 300 and configurable materials it would be no problem using object dependency's. I think you want to look into class hierarchy and inheriting characteristics from assigning your general class to your specific class. See transaction CL24N and review this topic:
