Email Notification for Upcoming Work Orders

Hello,

Is there a way for SAP to email the person that a work order operation is assigned to based on the basic finish date? Currently, when a notification is flipped to a work order, the person who submitted the notification is sent an email notification, however the person that the work order is assigned to is not sent a notification. Ideally we'd like to send an email notification to the person that that the work order is assigned to and send out periodic reminder emails when the work order is almost due (or overdue).

Do we need an special version of SAP to do this? I think we have SAP ECC.

Zach,

Yes this can be done either via Workflow or via a batch program which runs periodically (say once a week).

Either way you will need to speak to your ABAP Team.
