Hi All,

We have a strange issue with Data Services designer Log in. This happens with one of our users.

Environment:

Windows 2012 Server Standard

Data Services 4.2 SP5

Below SAP Note doesnt help as we are using a terminal server to log in

1965989 - Designer will not open on one desktop - Data
Services

Is there any repository metadata table which gets locked for the user.

Any inputs will be really appreciated. There are no sessions see in IPS CMC

Amit,

My colleague is facing this issue. He is not able to see designer window and Al_Designer process in background. After entering the repository password nothing happens and Designer window doesnt comes up. I had done a detailed level of troubleshooting and found that there is an error in the log.txt file under the user folder on the server where the Designer client is installed.

C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\SAP\Data Services\log

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION
Fault address: 0000000003A7A79D 01:000000000024979D C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP
BusinessObjects\Data Services\bin\BCGCBPRO100u80.dll"

Thanks Amit!!

Yes. The specified dll is present at the mentioned location.

The person who is facing this issue had access to designer. The strange thing is that we are also the users on the same terminal server where Designer client is installed.

Let me check if there are any dump files in the log folder

Regards

Arun Sasi
