Hi Fredrik,

You will be allowed to remove only if there is no data in the cube. So you would have to delete the data and then remove the concerned object.

Hope this helps...

Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, as I try to delete all the data I get this error message:

"/BI0/F0PCA_C01 cannot be deleted"

What can I do about this?

How did you attempt to delete the data? You can delete the data by right clicking the cube in RSA1 and choosing Delete data...is this what you did?

Try to delete data only from the cube not from fact table don't choose this option when it is prompted.

Yes, exactly...

It says:

"Database table /BI0/F0PCA_C01 could not be deleted or recreated"

Right click the cube > Manage. Do you see any requests on the Requests tab?

but I only get to choose between "delete fact table or delete both fact table an d dimension tables"

You need to choose delete both fact table an d dimension tables.

As it didn't work to "delete data" I went in and deleted all the requests in "manage"... Still it doesn't work to delete this one table...

Hi Fredrik,

We are not looking to delete the table (structure of the table) we just need to make sure that the cube is empty so that you can remove the InfoObject. If you have deleted all the requests, it means that the cube is empty.

Hope this helps...

Could it be that I first have to unassign the info object from the dimension or perhaps de-activate the update rules or something like this?

The situation right now is that all the requests are gone from the cube but the info objects cannot be taken out of it.

This has to do with the error message in the report I mentioned earlier. The ZSEGMENT (attribute of Profit Center) is assigned to a dimension and I guess therefor is disturbing the navigational attribute 0PROFIT_CENTR__ZSEGMENT...

If you are not allowed to remove InfoObjects from the cube, it means that the cube still contains data. Does your cube contain ZSEGMENT as a char and also a nav attr of 0PROFIT_CENTR? Really this should not be an issue to deleting data, or removing an InfoObject...

Yes, that's correct... It's "double" at the moment and I need to remove the char ZSEGMENT...

Ok. Do this then: first check if ZSEGMENT is being used as a char in the query. If yes then first remove this from the query definition (for all queries on this cube that include ZSEGMENT).

Then check if all the data has been deleted from the cube. Either RSA1 > cube > right click > delete data > Fact table and Dim tables. This should delete the data...again we are not trying to delete the cube tables. Double check that all data is deleted by trying to look at the cube contents.

Open the cube in edit mode and try to move the ZSEGMENT char from left hand pane to right hand pane. It should be removed from the cube this way. Activate the cube.

Hope this helps...

Hello,

I have done exactly this, but it's still "locked"...

If I look in SE16 into the table /BI0/F0PCA_C01 there are still values in this which needs to be removed. It doesn't work just to "delete data". Is there any other way to empty this table?

Last option is you could directly delete data from /BI0/F0PCA_C01 if you are working in Dev or test systems.

Thanks!!!

You've been most kind! However, I finally had to copy the entire cube + update rules in order to be able to remove the object. Now it works fine!!!

Thanks again,

Fredrik

First you delete the data from the cube and then only you can remove the Object from the cube.
