Calling a WD component from a java ws project

Hello all,

Because it's so easy to consume web services using the Model, I've created a wd project which uses several web services, it has no view.

I want to create a java project that calls the Component Controller class and use it to reach those web services.

Is it possible?

Is it recommended?

Hi Yaniv,

It is possible, by exposing the Model components as Public Parts of the WD DC and then adding them to the Used DCs section of your new java project.

As to whether its recommended, best practice would be to maintain the Views and Models in the same DC, but it is possible to share data across DCs.
