Basic authentication in tomcat server for hybris

Hello,

I am trying to enable basic authentication in tomcat server for whole hybris instance i.e, username + password should popup and when provided should authenticate the server and open login for HAC/cmscockpit etc basically it should authorize the whole server when the url is hit . I have followed this link https://wiki.hybris.com/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=release5&title=Setting+Basic+Authentication+i... after following the tutorial the authentication pop-up does occur but when I provide correct username and password it does not move to next page and again pop-up reappears.

can anybody help me with this I am stuck on this part for ages now.
