How to add new enum value to approval status?

I need to add some custom enum value to the existing list of article approval status. How can I achieve this in v1808? When I tried to add a new value manually through admin backoffice, it is throwing an error stating: Enum type ArticleApprovalStatus is not dynamic. When I tried to mark ArticleApprovalStatus as dynamic in -items.xml, it is throwing build error with duplicate attribute. Could you please help here?

    ArticleApprovalStatus is not dynamic. So, you can't add new values during runtime.

    But you can extend ArticleApprovalStatus in your custom items.xml, like this:

     <enumtype code="ArticleApprovalStatus" generate="false" autocreate="false">
             <value code="NEW_STATUS"/>
     </enumtype>

    As usual, you need to do "ant all".
