Override canonicalItemSource for an OOB target item type

Hi Experts,

I am trying to override the canonicalItemSource(CanonicalOrderCancelRequest) of the ORDERS05 target item type with a different canonical item(i.e CanonicalOrder). How can we achieve this with a handler class? Please suggest.
