LuceneIndex jobs slowing down hybris

Hello everyone,

We have been noticing lately that LuceneIndex Cronjobs "Lucenesearch-RebuildIndex-Job" and "Lucenesearch-UpdateIndex-Job" run for a very long time, sometimes they takes more than two days, and their impact on the system is very obvious, it becomes very slow.

So we are wondering if maybe we can deactivate these cronjobs for good, but we are afraid that this may result some issues back on the system.

You must be on an old version of Hybris to have these jobs still enabled. IIRC they were only used for search within the hMC. There used to be a search box (in the top right?) to do full text search across all types but this was removed some time back. You should be able to delete or just disable with no repercussions.

I vaguely remember some problem with these jobs making a system update take ages but I think that occured when disabling the trigger rather than the job.
