How to extend personalizationsmartedit?

Hi experts,

I'd like to extend personalizationsmartedit in order to introduce a custom commerce customization (see https://help.hybris.com/6.5.0/hcd/9c4673e3ac3a4334b79fd23d5cc9bc41.html ).

Now i wonder how i can do this, as there is no ypersonalizationsmartedit template like it exists for cmssmartedit (ycmssmartedit). Do i have to create a completely new module based on ysmarteditmodule template?
