Promotion priority

In hybris 6.2. I have created 2 promotion "fixed_discount_onProduct_promotion" and "percentage_discount_onProduct_promotion" on the same product. Both these promotions are in different rule-groups, that are, "productPromotionRuleGroup"(OOTB) and "newRuleGroup"(manually made via back office) respectively. And the priority of " fixed_discount_onProduct_promotion" is higher than "percentage_discount_onProduct_promotion".

My understanding is... promotion with the highest priority is applied prior to the promotions with lower priorities. But, in my case promotion with lower priority, that is, "percentage_discount_onProduct_promotion" is getting applied first.

Hi Tushar,

It is happening because the "newRuleGroup" rule group is being evaluated first. Priority works only with the same rule group and not across rule groups. The promotion rules from the first rule group being evaluated, will apply irrespective of its lower priority with respect to another higher priority promotion rule from another rule group.

In order to control it, assign both promotion rules to same rule group.
