2.what are infospoke?

3.what are the uses of different data type in Info object chracteristics?

4.use of aggregation tab given in key figure .

5.If i have to create sales revenue in report shall I go with calculated key fig or shall i give ABAP routine in transfer rule ? How will it impact the system loading and query performnance?

Thanks In advance.

dear Ketul,

1.

what is plug in ?

Additional program which enhances the functionality of an existing program. Additional functions which may not be needed or are mutually exclusive are often implemented as plug-ins

The interface between mySAP.com components (for example, SAP APO, SAP BBP, SAP BW, SAP CRM) and one or more SAP R/3 systems.

The SAP R/3 Plug-In unites the plug-ins APO-CIF, CRM-R3A, BW-BCT and B2B-PRO-PI. This simplifies maintenance significantly and guarantees compatibility between the individual mySAP.com components. With SAP R/3 Plug-In, you can use several mySAP.com components simultaneously in a single system. SAP R/3 Plug-In supplies the mySAP.com component transaction data and master data in real time.

Technically, there are two versions of each release of the SAP R/3 Plug-In, a PI version and a PI-A version.

The technical names of the software components are PI and PI_A

how they are useful in bw ?

PlugIn for SAP Systems

BI-specific source system functions, extractors and DataSources are delivered for specific SAP systems by plug-ins.

Communication between the SAP source system and BI is only possible if the appropriate plug-in is installed in the source system.

2. infospoke

infospoke is used to export data from bw

3. uses of different data type in infoobject characteristics

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/b7/f470375fbf307ee10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm

Char: Numbers and letters Character length 1 - 60

Numc: Numbers only Character length 1 - 60

Dats: Date Character length 8

Tims: Time Character length 6

4. aggregation tab in key figure

5. i think the question may not exactly 'create sales revenue', but perhaps if you need to calculate e.g a keyfigure where come from other keyfigures, you can go with both ways, with advantage and disavantage, in terms of query performance, give abap routine in transfer rules may better since the calculation done before query execution, where calculated key figure (or virtual key figure) may take more query execution time since it's calculation 'on the fly'. but if this keyfigure not exist, using abap routine in transfer rules, you need to add the keyfigure and re-load data.

hope this clear some of your doubts

Thanks to both AHP and Sahid

My basic point for the last question is if we add it in transfer rules by ABAP programme then all the time we have to fill one additional row/column for that revenue key fig during data loading so will it impact the data loading performance?

I also believe we should do this but which time we can save more , Query run time or data loading time ? how?

dear Ketul,

yes, this would impact to performance loading,

for simple calculation (e.g no function module needed, read table), we can do it in query level, the query performance would significantly impacted.

yes, we have to keep balance of query and loading performance.

hope this helps.

PLUG INS ARE USED IN SAP IN ORDER TO PROVIDE COMMUNICATION BETWEEEN SAP SYSTEMS AND THE BW SYSTEMS. AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF R/3 SOFTWARE WE HAVE INSTALL PLUG INS IN THE SOURCE SYSTEMS. THEY HELP THE SYSTEMS TO COMMUNICATE.

INFOSPOKE IS AN OBJECT WHICH IS USED IN OPEN HUB SERVICE.

THROUGH INFOSPOKE DATA IS IMPORTED TO FLAT FILES, DATA BASE TABLES, BW SYSTEMS, EXTERNAL SYSTEMS. OPEN HUB SERVICE ALLOWS DISTRIBUTION OF DATA FROM DATA TARGETS IN BW SYSTEM TO FLAT FILES, DATA BASE TABLES, BW SYSTEMS, EXTERNAL SYSTEMS.

THE DATA TYPES FOR INFOOBJECTS CHARACTERISTICS

ARE

CHAR : IT ALLOWS ONLY CHARACTERS

NUMC : IT ALLOWS ONLY NUMBER CHARACTERS

DATS : DATE

TIMS : TIME

IF U USE THE AGGREGATION TAB IN THE KEYFIGURE WHAT EVER THE VALUES OF THE KEY FIGURE FOR A PARTICULAR CHARACTERISTIC IS GET ADDED OR SUMMARIZED.

U CAN CREATE A CALCULATED KEY FIGURE IN THE REPORT. OR U CAN DO IN THE TRANSFER RULES. PERFORMANCE WISE IT IS BETTER TO DO IN THE TRANSFER RULES.
