What is the correct location to place an impex file?

I am creating impex files for my b2c application. I want to know what is the correct place to place the impex filse as there are so many places the impexes are found and I am unable to find this info in Hybris help. ant modulegen has created 7 folders. So for eg., where should the catalog.impex be placed? Is it under abcinitialdata or abcstorefront or some other? As of now, I placed it in initialdata. But when I clicked on hac> Platform > Update, nothing was updated. Then i directly pasted the impexes in hac > Console > Import Impex and it worked. Pls suggest what is the correct place so just clicking on Update would update everywhere.

    See: https://wiki.hybris.com/display/release5/ImpEx+Import+for+Essential+and+Project+Data And: https://wiki.hybris.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=294094415

Use abcinitialdata for initialization data, and abccore or other extensions for essential data import when running a system update. See CoreSystemSetup and InitialDataSystemSetup, where you can add options to the HAC to determine import items and behavior during Init / Update.
