How do we make CMSComponentLink content managed by a business user through CMSCockpit? We have a requirement where we have a footer which has CMSLinkComponents. And the business should be able to edit these CMSLinkComponent links throuch wcms cockpit. How do i achieve this?

Hello Swetha,

Please ensure if the admin user is able to edit the CMS Link Component as highlighted in your provided snapshot. If yes, Then most probably this is the issue of User Roles by which you are trying to login in the CMS Cockpit. Make sure your usergroup (CMS Cockpit User assigned to usergroup) are have proper config for readableCatalogVersions & writableCatalogVersions You can refer impex cmscocpit-users.impex

After this validate cmscockpit-access-rights.impex where you have given proper rights to a usergroup along with CMSLinkComponent.

 $START_USERRIGHTS;;;;;;;;;
 Type;UID;MemberOfGroups;Password;Target;read;change;create;remove;change_perm
 UserGroup;cmsmanagergroup;cockpitgroup,employeegroup;;;;;;;

 ;;;;CMSLinkComponent;;;+;+;+;

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for the reply Anshul ... it's the admin user . So ideally I should be able to edit the cmscomponentlink right? There is nothing custom in here ..I am using out of the box footer for my storefront which has hybris's cmscnavigationnode and cmscomponentlink . And I am trying to edit this link by logging in as admin user

hi Shwetha, You should be able to manage those links in the Content Editor panel of the WCMS cockpit, following these steps:

  1. Select component

  2. Open Content Editor panel in the bottom of the WCMS cockpit (is collapsed by default, you can click on it or enlarge it)

  3. open the component ("Categories") and scroll down to the links section ("children")

  4. Open a link by selecting the edit button

This will open an editor modal where you can change the link attributes.

I want to find out how to get that edit link .. I believe OOB Cmscomponentlink doesn't provide edit link .. I assume it needs to be customised ... I want to find out how I need to customise it

Hi,

you can edit these navigation nodes by choosing meny "navigation" in upper left corner. My opinion is that it is still not that user friendly. There are some changes in latest smartedit (6.2) but there is still some work to be done.
