why we use tag files while we can use jsp file to achieve all kinds of customization

I am new to Hybris. Never used .tag files before. To do some changes on PDP i had to change "productDetailsPanel.tag" file. Whats the use of this file. We can use jsp files also to do all kind of changes.

Hi Abinash,

Tag files are used for re-usability.. Each tag encapsulates a re-usable piece of JSP code Please refer Encapsulating Reusable Content Using Tag Files

One tag file can be used in many jsp files.

JSP and custom tags articles gives you a detailed description about tag files & how it relates to jsp

Please note that "Tag file" concept is not something specific to hybris. It is in "jsp".
