How to implement Voucher partial redemption/returns?

Hi Experts

We have a business requirement for gifting that may require a voucher to be partially redeemed (similar to iTunes). The face value of the voucher will be reduced by the current purchase with the balance available in the next purchase. We cannot use the promo/serial voucher types.

Hope to hear from anyone who managed to implement something similar.

Thanks in advance to all, Gerry Silva

    Hi Experts

This is such a basic retail functionality, I am sure most B2C site will require this. Can we build it in 6.x?

I am think of just using a third party e-Gift gateway then link to a new Payment Method in Hybris. What do you think?

    Regards Gerry

    Hello Gerardo,

hybris doesn't support gift cards out of the box as of now. We are considering it as one of the features on the roadmap that would also make use of the new coupons and promotion engine.

    Thanks, Charles

Hi, We are hoping Hybris will provide this OOTB in subsequent releases. Some competitve products already have this as a OOTB plug-in. Neither YaaS has this in its market place. We are also looking for multiple vouchers being applied. Another legal requirement is to mix several gift cards/vouchers and credit card payment methods in one transaction. But unfortunately, we may have to code all these feature. This is very expensive in terms of man-days. I do not think Hybris is mature in meeting the D2C market payment method requirements. Regards

    Hello Gerardo,

I don't think Hybris provides partial redemptions/returns of Vouchers out of the box.

I am currently in the process of implementing Gift Cards in my project. There are several Gift Card service providers, we have chosen Givex as our implementation provider.

You will have to customize the payment extension module to integrate the Gift Card Provider Service API to work with other payment providers.

Scope of the integration will be based on your individual requirements and can range from a Single Gift Card Redemption to Multiple Gift Cards Redemption with other payment providers with order amends/refunds/returns/cancellations et al

    Good luck for your implementation

Hi Ajith, Thank you for your comment. Yes I do understand that Hybris is unable to provide gifting and partial redemption of vouchers. The question is why do we have to develop these ourselves or rely on a third party product at all. When in fact these are basic D2C requirements. They are not even in the YaaS micro-services. YaaS and Hybris micro service architecture is good but this platform becomes expensive if we have to develop basic plug-ins ourselves. Regards Gerry
