where is order splitting used in code?

I have a requirement that 1. If an customer order contains Products to be fulfilled through different warehouses then different consignments are created 2. Now if we want to update the consignments based on some external system then how is it achieved and what’s the effect on the OMS core functionality due to these changes.

Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts/examples on how to solve this?

Thanks!

AllocationService is responsible for creating consignments in OMS. You might wanna go through this documentation: https://help.hybris.com/6.0.0/hcd/8b520321866910149a409fb6f7bdd6c9.html

the first requirement is provided by OOTB OMS sourcing functionality. Could you explain more about what you want to update in consignments ? Also, what version of oms you are using ?
