Hi I'd like to know if CPQ pricing is asynchronous as the configuration process, or if pricing is carried out with synchronous calls (like RFC).
Thanks nicola
I confirm, CPQ engine runs locally so it's completely asynchronous and decoupled from SAP.

Hi Nicola,
According to this detail on SAP CPQ, it can be used with both Asynchronous and Synchronous setups.

Luke

Hi Luke thanks for your answer. From the page you linked I understand the final product configuration is sent to SAP, but it's not specified if the pricing is synchronous or not (or both).
I took a look at the Hybris (local) CPQ database, and it seems all the pricing tables are duplicated locally, so it should be asynchronous (pricing conditions are found, etc). We even tried to enable CPQ pricing without any connection to SAP and it didn't crash with any RFC/JCO call. I'll perform a full test next week in order to assess this.
