Suppose a Discount Promotion and a BOGOF promotion is configured on a Product The Discount Promotion is at 999 priority while the BOGOF Promotion is at 1000
Does keeping the lower priority promotions on the Product which will not apply has any impact on the system. Please suggest
That' up to your business rules . but it's not quite the same thing that depends on the quantity of the product on the cart , the application logic of the promotion .
In General , the promotionManager , will fetch from the database all the active promotions , sort them by priority and consume the product for each promotion until no quantity qualified left (apply the promotion) .
For product promotions, only the first one will be applied . Order promotions keep iterating and applying until no product qualified left .
So for , product promotions if you don't to apply a product promotion is better (performance issues) to deactivate than give it a lower priority .
