We are having an SRM system and need to send the PO's to various Vendors outside our firewall.

Our SRM system is on WAS 6.40. We are confused whether to go for a Proxy or for an HTTP adapter on the Sender side. Need your suggestion.

Also how to develop a Proxy for this case, whether I can get a step by step guide to develop the Proxy for the above scenario. Appreciated.

Mohan Ram

I think there is a small correction in your question. I am sorry if I am wrong.

    >>HTTP adapter on the Sender side

I think you are talking about receiver http adapter configuration since XI is sending PO outside firewall and you can use it.

You can very well go for HTTP receiver than to develop proxies since maintenance is easy - changing any conf is easy in future.

    Best regards,

      Hi Mohan,

As your receiver system is SAP, you can develop an ABAP Proxy which is the easiest thing to do.

All you have to do is:

      1.Develop the complete Interface.

      2. Go to your receiver system Transaction-SPROXY.

      3. Go to your Message Interface for reciver side, right click and develop a proxy class.

      4. Now write your code into proxy class as to what you want to do with the data being populated.

Please go through this blog to check that your connection is astablished with the receiver system.

      Hope this helps.

    HI Mohan,

SRM is a predelivered content in XI. SO you need to just configure the scenarios. Repository objects are already in place. If you want to customize the objects , then you need to do some Transformations and you need to configure the directory objects

Following link will give some good info about this.
