Why use timer for auto composition and publication?

Why does DH use these timers and minimum = 1sec? Why is there no option for 0 sleep time?

Is that inbound adapter can only work when there's nothing else going on in DH? What happens to inbound request during composition / publication?

Auto composition timer - time to collect pools before auto composition in milliseconds (minimum 1 second) sapcoreconfiguration.autocompose.sleeptime=

Auto publication timer - time to collect pools before auto publication in milliseconds (minimum 1 second) sapcoreconfiguration.autopublish.sleeptime=

Some IDOC from ERP are sent in bulk. If you think about BD10 to send product in full, it will send the MATMAS & CLFMAS in 2 successive POST. BD12 for customers will send the DEBMAS, ADRMAS, ADR3MAS in bulk for all the contacts of the B2B unit.

The minimum 1 sec was to ensure the bulks would not be split and create unnecessary strange intermediate canonical states within the Data Hub. Having an instant auto compose when a data loading event finish would almost always cause this strange intermediate state to occurs.

The other reason was to prevent the sapcoreconfiguration from overflowing the Data Hub with composition & publication to fire faster than 1 per second.
