How to extend the SimpleSearch functionality in Backoffice?

How to extend the SimpleSearch functionality ?It is required to filter the search result. I am able to extend the the advance Search Widget and able to hit my customAdvanceSearchController. But not able to do this in case of Simple Search widget. While going through the backoffice-widgets.xml, I can see the configuration and connection for advance search widget but I didn't get any configuration or connection for simple search. Please provide your inputs how to extend or replace the simple search?

Reqment is diffrnt, In search widget there are two search buttons 1st is for simple search nd 2nd (when we expand it) is for advance search. So I want to hit my customContller when I click on 1st search button nd perform search as per requirement. So i think for that I need to extend the simple search widget "com.hybris.cocpitng.widgets.common.simplesearch" nd provide connection for that. But I am not able to see simpleSearch widget in orchestrator mode. Is simple search and advance search widgets are same? So how should I proceed ? Thanks in advance...
