Hello, I have to periodically disable category or product attributes after they have been created through items.xml. Is there a way to reverse this process and disable all synchronization properties until explicitly enabled?
Our project has master and website catalogs with master feeding into website. Many category and product attributes are created for a richer website experience. This data is not available in the master catalog; it's created by content and merch teams. The teams are obviously working on the website catalog (staged and online) because it drives the site and contains only the items relevant to their project. This data will be overwritten when updated items are synced from the master catalog unless the sync properties are disabled.
Our project team is big and most of the people are not aware of the sync configuration. They are working on business- and customer-facing features. For them the data lifecycle starts at the website catalog. It's counter intuitive to disable every new attribute they create if previous data stages don't appear in their testing workflow.
