MI vs. SAPConsole

Hello,

We want to scan barcodes for some warehouse transactions. Should we use MI or SapConsole? What are the issues that should be considered when choosing?

hello dennis,

if your mobile devices are connected i.e. they have online

network connections all the time like wi-fi, SAPConsole

would suffice. But if your mobile devices have a limited

network connection or can only avail connections from a

specific time & place, then MI would best suit to your needs.

MI is an offline framework thus you can go on with your

barcode reading activities regardless of network connections.

all read/updated data from your mobile devices can then be

sent to the server upon device synchronization.

issues:

for MI, you need to have a dedicated MI server and you

have to create the corresponding application using the MI

client APIs. also, there might be a need to wrap your

BAPIs...
