Extracting in FI and CO

Dear Friends,

During the process of blueprinting the ETL process in BW for FI and CO, i have seen that there are many InfoCubes in the business content for a same area (for example in Controlling Analysis for CCA there are about 5 Infocubes). How do we know what is being used in SAP R/3 so that we can activate on the relevant InfoCubes and their datasources. Thanks for all the help in advance.

Hi Mike,

If you see the 5 cubes (as an example here) they are for storing different types of data. The most commonly used CCA cube is 0CCA_C11. Also it is recommended not to use 0COOM_C01, which has been replaced by 0COOM_C02.

I think it would be good to understand the different data and reporting with each cube and talk to your business to see what exactly they are looking for. Eg. If you mention statistical key figures for cost center accounting (cube 0CCA_C03), you will be able to know if that data is important for them, and something that they would like to analyze.

also try type in infocube name in help.sap.com with 'search documentation' and option 'sap netweaver', you may get the datasources name in r/3.

If you want to do it the first time you have to install business content from RSA5 in SAP R/3 as well. Then setup data flows on BW side.
