Backoffice vs HMC

Hi,

As I understoot, the HMC will be replaced with the backoffice. (The backoffice is reachable by http://localhost:9001/backoffice/) The backoffice is already available for us, how much of the HMC does it cover now?

Can we already use the backoffice instead of the HMC or is it just in some beta phase?

Hi, with 5.2 Release the Backoffice Admin Area is configured for all non-optional platform extensions. We will add more generic UI components (like a grid view, hierarchical search result, ...) to the Backoffice Admin Area and add the non platform related configuration for navigation tree, advanced search, list view and editor area over the next release cycles with the goal to fully replace the hMC. Wer are aiming to finish by Q1 2015. Hi Christian, what are the priorities regarding mass maintenance (https://experts.hybris.com/questions/28663/backoffice-massedit.html)) For our project it would be super helpful... Right now we see 2 options: 1) Use legacy cockpits 2) Implement massedit ourselfes and customize backoffice... The goal is to build a framework which allows content managers to track content completeness & deliveries... Any thoughts?

I am the DM for a B2B acceleartor project. Customer is interested in knowing if they should use hMC vs. backoffice. They are looking for feature comparison between this two modules to make intelligent decision. I was not able to find comaprison anywhere. Can someone share what the best answers will be in choosing these two modules? Thank you.

The backoffice admin perspective is not yet fully replacing the HMC. I would recommend to have a look at the Backoffice Admin Area section in the 5.2 release notes to have an idea of its current features:
