Few days ago I received a notification that my comment was deleted. This is all I can see when opening the notifications:
I have no problem with the moderators doing their work but what exactly am I supposed to do with this?
This blog is almost a year old and I haven't posted any comments on it since. I have no idea what this is regarding. The message is asking me to ensure that my "contributions comply" but what rules exactly did I violate? Looking at the current version of ROE, there are only 2 rules that are grounds for deletion: plagiarism and defamation.
Those are pretty serious accusation to make. I'm 100% sure I haven't plagiarized anything and while my comments can be critical I never use any offensive language and make an effort to keep the criticism professional.
We all make mistakes and we can (and should) learn from them but in this case I can't understand what have I done in the first place. And I imagine such message would be confusing to any SCN member in similar situation.
These notifications must be more informative and timely to be effective.
Hi, Jelena,
Per your comment to my previous answer, let me provide more info:
The message you received was because one of your comments (in a comment thread) were deleted when the author of the parent comment has deleted the parent. We have a rule for notifying authors of the content if it was deleted for that case. Due to some configuration differences the rule has misfired and a different rule created this notification.
Now we are working on fixing the configuration and in the meantime the rule which generated the notification you showed in this question is deactivated. So you won't receive such a message anymore.

Hi Jelena,
I believe the moderator message you have received is meant to the person whose comment was deleted. You received this notification since you are the author of the content to which the reported comment was posted and later deleted by the moderator.
We are still working on ironing out the notification templates in the new service, and this one will be changed.
We'll post an update as soon as this is done.

Thanks for a reply. It says clearly "your comment", not "a comment on your blog". Twice. And then it goes on to lecture regarding "your contributions". The verbiage is very clear here.
As a blog author, not sure I'd care about receiving a notification about the moderator activities in the comments. But if it was the case then wouldn't the author first receive a notification about the comment itself being posted? I haven't heard anything about this blog since it was posted almost a year ago. Don't recall any offensive comments there either, I would've reported them myself.
Can someone clarify what exactly transpired here?
