    Hi muthu

ROOSOURCE table content (don't look at its description!) contains all the datasources available on the system (delivered by SAP and/or active).

    Look at this previous thread

    BW tables ROOSOURCE

    gives clear picture

    Regards

    Hi,

It gives the details like appl name, delta method, extractor...of all the data sources in R/3.

In selection screen of roosource( after clicking contents button), you can select max no.of hits.It is usually set to 200 by default.Change it to see all the datasources.

    shylaja.

    hi muthu,

ROOSOURCE table content contains all the datasources available on the system (delivered by SAP and/or active).

If you look into your BW you will see, generally speacking, the datasources that have BW as source system (technical content, verification, datamart and so on...).

Now you want to have info about an R/3 (as source system) datasource, dedicated to BW (you are right), but located in R/3 (OLTP system).

So log into your R/3 and check ROOSOURCE there

SE11 contains all the techincal info (how the table is built) and gives the possibility to see the content of a table (last coloured button or CtrlShiftF10).

    SE16 display only the content

don't forget to assign points if helpful...

    Regards,

    jm

    Hi Muthu,

Check the data source in the table ROOSFIELD in R/3. This table should give you an idea whether your data source is in Delivered version only or it is also available in the active version.

Roosource is a meta data table in BW. it provides information on the data sources in the source system. The key fields of this table are data source and object version. Sap gives u the option of storing different version data sources. delivered, active, delivered in patch versions. the roosource system is available in bw system where it contains data sources for the data marts.
