SAP BW 7.5 on Oracle DB inputs

Hi Experts,

Is there anyone who had migrated to SAP BW 7.5 on Oracle (Not on HANA) or have been working on this environment? if so could you please share your feedback on how suggestable it is, challenges faced during the migration or any special activities needs to be taken care while migrating etc..

We are currently on SAP BW 7.3 with Oracle DB and planning to migrate to cloud on SAP BW 7.5 with Oracle.

Yes, it is upgrade from BW 7.3 to BW 7.5.

Hi Anil,

Oracle is a very stable database. My client is currently using SAP BW 7.5 on Oracle. without significant issues.

FYI: in SAP speak, a BW 7.3 on Oracle to BW 7.5 on Oracle is an upgrade or a homogeneous migration. The term migration is used for changing the database from one database to another is a migration or heterogeneous database migration.

Hi John,

Do you have any idea on security changes while upgrading from bw 7.3 to 75 like RSECADMIN changes or any other things...for example, in one of the note we found that RSECVAL and RSECHIE tables would be repalced with RSECVAL_STRING and RSECHIE_STRING (but no issue)...like this any other changes w.r.to authorizations or any other issues did you come across..?
