Hello,

I just want to know what is the normal timeline from setting up connections to creating your first model between SAC and BW. Also, can I assume that whatever connection configuration that was performed between SAC and BW development have to be replicated for BW Q and BW prod?

Thanks.

Hi nmillare

What do you mean under "normal timeline" do you reckon the amount of time being spent on the setup? << this depends on the persons skillset, what access the person has towards the backend and most importantly what type of connection we want to set up.

What type of connection are we referencing to?

  • For Live Connection you'll need to have BW at a specific SP /EHP level to enable CORS easily within the UCONCOCKPIT transaction. If the BW is lower version, than a script file must be written which takes little bit more time and requires better understanding of profiles.
  • For Import Connection, Tomcat, SAC Agent setup must be needed on a specific sytem and the subaccount of the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant must be configured either by you (on NEO systems) or by SAP Operations (on CF systems). This is another approach but once you have all authorization setup takes max 25-30 mins including tomcat install and all.

Your second question i did not really understand. Of course more connections can be set up simultaneously towards different BW backends, after the config is done. Read more pls here

Cheers,

Mark
