Installation of Diagnostic Agent 753 / Missing smdsetup script

Hello

installing the Diagnostic Agent via SWPM was succesfull and worked fine until the SMDSetup configuration (automated version in the swpm installation)

The warning said that I should reexecute the script after installation (from /usr/sap/DAA/SMD$$/script - the $$ is changed to our -nr ). The Problem is: no smdsetup script to be found in the directory.

"Choose "Cancel" to modify managing configuration or "OK" to continue. If you choose to continue you will have to execute the smdsetup script later on."

While installing I choose to install with sapjvm_8, thats why I can't reuse an existing smdsetup from an older installation. This is the first installation of DiaAgent with jvm 8.

Regards

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

with the new Kernel Release the connection for SAPJVM Version 8 isjust to connect to SAP JAVA SCS msgHTTPPort. You need to do it manually to run the smdsetup script if you want to connect to SLD.

Hello Tom

I know that part. My problem is that in the 20.06.2019 Version of the DAA Agent 720 SP9 there just isn't a smdsetup script.
After install with the 720 SP4.1 the problem was fixed (since I know what I need to do when I have the script where it belongs)

What I didn't tested was, weather I can reuse the smdsetup in the SP9 Version ...

My Current Solution was to download and reinstall the SMDAgent with an older Release (720 SP4.1) even though its older it supports 753 and furthermore contents the smdsetup.sh

After Connecting it to the Agent Admin I was able to update it from the Solution Manager.

I'm currently thinking about reporting the missing file to the SAP, so please tell me if you had the same problem. (Missing SMDSetup.sh in /usr/sap/SMD$$/script)
