Entering Non-production time

Trying to improve employee efficiency by recording down time in SAP Example... meetings, change overs, and training times.

We have tried to create a part number never to be sold Qty. 1, never to be yielded, and only enter a time in CO11n. Are we on the right track? Part number was created with time instead of Qty. and does not seem correct.

I know where I want to go with this but don't know how to make it work.

Please help!

Hi Todd,

Another step is to introduce the operation to capture these down times, and during operation confirmation make the activities entry mandatory (setting from work center) and capture the time lapses of production. These activites do not have any cost impact or dummy formulae just to capture the times. You can generate report using the activites times and use according to your requirement. You can call these activites during order confirmaiton in the third party tool and or any MES / MII system you use.

Hello

There could be multiple ways to approach this.

One is the way you are doing it.

  • More sophisticated way would be to implement the SAP's time sheet functionality you can explore the same here CATS
  • One more simpler way which is not released by sap is Down time recording which can be configured and managed via 3 transactions DEDT - Define Downtime elements, CADT - Assign Downtime elements and DTR0 -Enter Downtimes

Refer KBA: 333382 - Downtimes: Function not available/released

  • Some like to take the route of PM orders and notifications etc.

Thank you Abhishek!

The 3 transactions that are not released by SAP, will they be released soon?

Well You will have to contact SAP for that information.

However, CATS is a suitable tool to meet your requirements.
