Is partner number in GR output type condition records mandatory?

Hi All,

When I maintained condition records for GR output type in MN21 for any key combination (lets say just for plant)-

If I create a GR then based on my condition records output type should trigger. But I noticed in condition records, if partner number in condition records is not maintained then when GR is posted output type is not triggered.

Hence so I tried maintaining partner number then GR output type is triggered.

Please note partner function and partner number are different and condition records I am specifying is for inventory management via t codes MN21, MN22, MN23.

My question- Will it really trigger if and only if partner number is maintained along with partner function / Am I proceeding with any wrong approach.
