Suppress Results Rows but Still Display Overall Results

I am working on a query modification where my client would like to have the results rows suppressed (subtotals) but not the overall results. They still want the overall results displayed.

Within query designer, I know I can go to the properties on each characteristic (row) and under Display of Results, select "always" to suppress results rows. However this option suppresses all results rows, including the overall results.

Does anyone know how to suppress the results rows for subtotals but still display the overall results?
