Creating Product Catalog Views using TREX

How do I create product catalog views using TREX in SAP R/3 ISA. Also how do I assign these product catalog views to the ISA users.

And here is an excerpt from the first (collective) note to briefly answer your question.

"The catalog views functionality in ISA R/3 Edition differs completely in terms of implementation from CRM ISA. For ISA R/3 Edition there's no customizing or transaction in R/3 available to define views. The views are not persisted anywhere in R/3. The views are defined "on the fly" while reading the catalog and the ISA user data from R/3 by assigning values to the VIEWS_ID attribute. In detail this means that a special attribute table in the function modules to read the catalog and ISA user data has to be filled with name/value pairs."

This has changed in ECC 5.0 onwards. Customer specific views have now become a customizable option. So the answer to your question also depends on what version of SAP ERP is running (since you said R/3 I'm going to assume that its 4.70 or lower, which means the notes above should guide you).

Does anyone know what has changed? I'm trying to migrate those customer specific views from R3 4.7 ( Internet Sales 4.0) to ECC 6.0 (e-Commerce 5.0) with no success.
