Hi All,
Can somebody give clarity on standard aggregation vs Exception aggregation.
As i know, exception aggregation is for BEx and If i choose exception aggregation property as Sum with 0calday reference, then in the Bex report level, it will show the max value with reference to the calday.
How does standard aggregation (aggregation) with reference to 0calday work? This one too work only in BEX or only in the backend BW system level?
I loaded a sample data as below and when display data on infocube, i do not see any difference.
CUSTOMER MATERIAL MONTH DAY TESTKF
C01 M01 201907 20190701 100
C02 M02 201907 20190702 200
C03 M03 201907 20190702 300
C04 M04 201907 20190702 400
C05 M05 201907 20190703 500
Thanks
Hi Satya,
Thanks for your reply.
when i put Calday only in rows, i see the difference...my doubt is here in this case i can go with exception aggregation as well right (selecting max property referring 0calday)..what is the difference...when to go for aggregation and when to go for exception aggregation..

Hi Anil,
It depends on your report requirement, when you want to display results by deviating the normal aggregation process ( Standard Aggregation) then you can identify the right exception aggregation ( MAX, MIN, COUNT etc..) based on certain characteristic as per the requirement.
Else, will go with standard aggregation.
Exception aggregation one which is uses a reference characteristic to calculate the aggregation of a keyfigure. It could be a sum, min, max etc..
Standard aggregation is always summation with out any reference chars.

Hi Anil,
Hope you have designed your bex query by keeping Customer, Material, Month and day in the rows. Just keep only customer in rows and then you will find the difference.
