Support Schedule Crystal Reports for Visual Studio

We have installed SAP Crystal Reports, version for Microsoft Visual Studio, using CRRuntime_32bit_13-0-6.msi, on our Windows Server 2008 web server. We create ASP.NET websites using Visual Studio 2012.

We are planning to build a new web server using Windows Server 2016 and are planning to stay with building ASP.NET websites using Visual Studio 2012 for a few more years because VS2012 update 5 is still supported until 2023.

Can we stay with the same version of Crystal that we are currently using? If so, how long will it be supported? If not, what version should be go to and how long will it be supported?

Thanks for your help,

If you go to Programs and Features on your computer, which SP is this version of the SDK?

If it's SP19 or newer, you should be ok. Support for Windows Server 2016 wasn't available prior to that SP.

New service packs come out roughly every quarter. If you want to keep track of what's currently supported, you can always periodically check the Product Availability Matrix (PAM), which you can get to from here:,_DEVELOPER_VERSION_FOR_MICROSOFT_VISUAL_STUDIO/SP21/en-US. This document gets updated with every service pack release.

    • It's taken longer than I expected but our new environment is up and running.

      • Windows Server 2016
      • VS2012 update 5
      • CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_6.msi
      • Crystal Reports 2011 (Product version XI 4.0)

I have a situation that I don't fully understand at this point. All of our existing reports will render in our ASP.NET web application with no problem. So I thought we are all set. However, a problem arose when I tried to create a new report in Crystal Reports 2011. I can actually create and preview a new report with no problem. But when I try to render the report in our ASP.NET web application, I get this error.

I followed the wiki link you referenced and read the page. It's very confusing. Can you provide direct links in your reply to the correct SDK download and the correct runtime needed for deployment?
