Adobe Forms Printout as E-Mail

Hello,

we started with SAP Adobe Forms. Everything work fine still our users try to use an older technique they know from SAP-Script and Smartforms to get the printouts by E-Mail with PDF Attachment.

If they need forms as PDF they use the printer ZMAIL. That printer uses Device Type PDF1 (or in our case ZPDF1) and makes it possible to get the printout as PDF-Form. Moreover the printer ZMAIL uses Host Spool Access Method M => E-Mail to Receiver/Owner. So if they use ZMAIL as printer they got the printout as E-Mail with the form as PDF attachment.

Now they want to use printer ZMAIL (PDF as MAIL) when they print out Adobe forms but they didn't get an E-Mail with attachment. In output controll, the PDF is visibel but there is an error.

The Error Message: Device ZMAIL in system .... does not support format G_RAW.

How can i solve it. How is it possible to send adobe forms created PDF's dircetly by E-Mail to the Receiver/Owner.

Diagnosis

The format type you specified in not defined for the device type of the target printer.

Procedure

Choose a different format type or define the missing format type. Use the "Possible entries" function to display a list of the defined format types.

How can i define the missing format type for my device type of the target printer: PDF1?

Thank's for your answers.

The second one with SAPNote 2137984 solved my problem.

I added the missing type G_RAW as decribed in SAP Note to the Device Type: ZPDF1.

How To:

Transaction SPAD-> Full administration ->Device Types

Device Type: ZPDF1 ->Display ->Formats -> Change (F9) -> Create ->Format = G_RAW.

After saving my changes i tried again to print on Printer ZMAIL which is using Device Type ZPD1 and know everything works fine, i got the printout as attachment in an E-Mail.

You can add the format G_RAW as per KBA #2137984 - ""Unable to read format G_RAW" error during print of ADS requests" shows.

Also please remove the older spool requests & try a consistency check in SP12. May i know the details of your printing device, probably its not supporting the output format
