Purchasing Variant Condition changing quantity

Hi Experts,

I have a VC material that I raise sales orders for in pieces but want to pay the subcontractor for in square meters. As part of the VC sales order length and width are specified, which I use to calculate the area. I can using a variant condition to change the price on the subcontractor PO to correctly reflect the per piece price (by simply setting the price per meter square and multiplying by the calculated quantity), but I was wondering if it is possible to instead changed the quantity (or the UOM conversion factor) in the dependency. I have been printing the per piece square meters and total square meters on the purchase order, but I'd like to send the PO in meter squared natively if possible.

I am using the $set_pricing_factor command to modify the price currently.
