OpenText (xECM) and SAP Task List PRT Solution

SAP Task Lists are used in repetitive Maintenance Plans. The Task Lists list the various sequenced Tasks (Activities) that should be done during an Inspection or Service. The Task List is Master Data from which the content is transferred to the resulting Service / Inspection Work Order at a scheduled interval. SAP Some Tasks need to be supported with a 'Document' - that may be viewed or printed with a resulting SAP Work Order. This supporting Document is called a PRT in SAP and is typically a Document Information Record (DIR) in SAP DMS.

A DIR is typically created in SAP using CV01n, transactions etc.

Now that we are exploring moving to the adoption of OpenText - extended ECM, I have heard that there is no need for a DIR, no need to be concerned since all documents will be linked in xECM to FLocs, Equipment, and told that 'sure Task Lists' will be handled.

I am sorry but do not understand the integration between xECM and SAP Task Lists, PRT Documents. Can someone please help me understand how we can continue to produce Task Lists with Links to Documents (DIR's) as PRT's when there is apparently no DIR to be created with OpenText?

Thank you in advance.
