SAP Screen Personas 3 SP08 Slipstream - Adaptive flavor

Hi,

I've created a parent flavor and 2 adaptive flavors. One is for Apple iPhone X Portrait (375 x 812) with min width is 375 and the other is for Apple iPad Portrait (768 x 1024) with min width is 768.

I'm testing them with Chrome emulated devices. When I select iPhone X, the selected flavor is correct. However, when I switch to iPad Portrait, it doesn't pick the iPad flavor but still uses iPhone X flavor even though I refresh the page.

According to Adaptive Flavor - SAP Help Portal, the value given is the minimum width to trigger a Flavor change.

I expect it would switch to iPad flavor when I select iPad in Chrome. However, it doesn't work like that.

I find a workaround is to reduce the min width of iPad flavor to 500, and it selects the right one.

I want to know if I'm doing anything wrong with min widths.

Regards,

Tri

The size settings in a Personas flavor are not by pixels, but dynpro units. The selected theme (whether Blue Crystal, Belize or anything else) will also have an effect on this. Therefore, getting the correct minimum width setting for an adaptive flavor can be a little bit of a trial and error game. Try to change the specified width for your adaptive flavors and see if that improves things. Also, don't forget that even the parent flavor must have a width specified for the adaptive flavor selection to work.

Hi tamas.hoznek , do you know how to convert pixel to dynpro unit?

One thing is I see in the document Adaptive flavor, they mention pixel. Can you please double check again? This is very confusing.

Thanks

If you install SP09, then you'll have the option in the editor to switch between pixels and dynpro units (PT) when you select an object. In the upper right corner, you can toggle between PT and PX. This should hopefully help a little... although even then, this will not necessarily match what you expect, because as mentioned, the scaling of the selected theme also will affect how the objects are rendered.
