Process Order confirmation via IDOC

We have various third parties plant wise connected to SAP via IDOC. The process order confirmation is sent from these third parties for the corresponding plants.

Currently the issue is; any third party is able to send a confirmation IDOC for a process order referring to a different plant. How can we avoid this situation.

We would want to have the third parties be able to send Confirmation IDOC corresponding to their plants alone. Else the IDOC should post a fail message.

It could depend on your data flow architecture, are you using any middle-ware to translate data from third party system, are you using SAP PI, are you using FTP to receive idocs via a text file from third party etc etc... check with your technical team to find out where this check could be built.

But in general you would need the information about the third party in the idoc transfer and you will have to validate it before it is sent to ECC for processing. The idocs should not get created if they fail this check.
