Java SE 8 update unavailability

Hello,

As of January 2019 Oracle have ended commercial use for its Java Runtime Client switching to a subscription model continued support for enterprises. Hence beyond this date there will no longer be free to use updates for Java SE 8 to patch post vulnerability scans without purchasing an annual subscription. Due to this we will not have any further Oracle Java 8 updates in our local systems (Laptop/Desktop) on all Windows workstations (Win10/Win7).

I am aware of using the NWDS as an alternative approach. Let me know if anyone has used Java other than vendor Oracle and if java webstart is part of it. I want to undetstand if we use can use java from other vendor to access swing client.

Please advise.

Thanks & Regards,

Asma shaik.
