thank you in advance.

Hi,
Generic Kf:
There may be a situation where an info cube has many different kfs and new types of kfs are added while the old kfs are deleted. Instead of modellinf the cube every time for adding the new kfs and deleting old ones we go for generic kfs. These r also used to avoid kf sparsity.A generic kf is always associated with a value type characteristic . This characteristic can be assigned to a dimension or an existing one.The value of characteristic gives the actual meaning of the kfs.
ex:custid ; revenue ;campaign discount;bulk discount
c100 20 0 0
c101 0 0 30
Now, using generic kfs there will be only 3 kfs
custid; valuetype characteristic; amount
c100 revenue 20
c101 bulk 30.
counter kf:
This is a semi additive kf. Here exception aggr set to count.Exce chjaracteristic is set to required characteristic for which we want to count no.of distinct values.
Hope its clear.

hi vishal,
generic kf:these r the key figures created in r3 through tcode SE18.
quality checkcan carried out in PSA and in ODS

hi all,
thankyou all for your answers...yes they are interview questions...thankyou once again...i have rewarded the points accordingly,

Vishal,
Please give a proper title to get proper answers. Also all the questions you have asked have been asked before , please do a good search of SDN before you post.
1. Internal Hierarchies are loaded through SAp R/3 and external hierarchies are loaded through Flat files
2. ????
3. Support / Implementation / Enhancement ( BI and BW are the same...)
4. SCD is a concept and can be handled in three ways - keep the current version / show both historical and new versions / display current data separately
5. There is nothing called counter Key figure , generic KF is the same as KF
6. Data given ?? you will have to ask the system owner or the person who keyed in the data!!!!
7. Quality processes ???
8. Unable to understand your question.
Vishal , please post questions that will lead us to even think that there is some point in answering the questions , some of your terminology is wrong and halfway through I get the feeling that these were questions asked in an interview. Atleast explicitly say that these were interview questions , you will not lose anything by saying so.

Hi Visal
can u please answer these questions for me.
1. how to load external & internal hierarchies
You can load hierarchies from different source systems:
From an SAP system
Since the metadata is already delivered, you can directly load the standard hierarchies from an SAP system.
From an external system (BAPI, file)
If you want to load hierarchies from an external system, you have to first maintain the metadata for this hierarchy.
2. what r the documents to get the work details
Technical specs and functional specs.
3. what r the different types of projects in BI & BW
Most of the projects are same just a naming conv is different; BI: is more represent all the datawarehousing tools.
4. What r the different types in slowly changing dimensions..

5. What r generic key figs & counter key figs.
Regular kf VS CKF and RKF
6. How do u confirm that the data given is correct??
tally the BW reports and R/3 data(via tables or R/3 reports)
7. what r the quality processes undergone
Make sure you have your design in QA and do the regular testing like loading data and executing reports.
8. how to document for event scheduling process in info package
triggering the process after the event..(I am not sure what you are asking)
