BEx Analyzer

Hi.

I would like to know if the BEx Analyzer, the xl based BW frontend tool is till available in NW04s. Will it be available going forward as well? I have a requirement that is best suited by using the workbook functionality of BW 3.5 and would like to know if SAP has plans for long time support for this methodolgy.

Hi Anand,

SAP has no plans to discontinue the BEx Analyzer. That was an unfortunate rumor that started when we focused significantly in the last few releases on improving the Web capabilities. We are aware that many customers are using BEx Analyzer and that it is best suited to support some of the reporting requirements, so we definitely plan to continue developing and supporting it.

There are some neat new features for BEx Analyzer in SAP NetWeaver 2004s, such as the ability to use Excel formatting and formulas for 2-structure queries. Yes, Excel based reporting feature is very much available in NW04s and it will be there in futre also.

Yes it is.

Although SAP is investing a lot of its efforts around the web they are still supporting Bex since it used a lot.
