can we access classical HANA calculation views in XSA Web IDE

Hi Everyone,

We have come across a scenario where we need to access classical HANA calculation views into XSA Web IDE.

Is it possible to access calc. views into Web IDE by creating synonyms or any other way? or is it must to migrate the calc. views to XSA environment.

NOTE: We are successful in accessing tables from classical schema like user schema or BW schema by creating synonyms and hdbgrants files.

Issue: Facing "Insufficient Privilege" issue while accessing _SYS_BIC schema, where calculation views are present, through synonyms. But, we have maintained SELECT for application_user and SELECT WITH GRANT OPTION for object_owner on _SYS_BIC schema in .hdbgrants file.

Please suggest me on possibilities of achieving the same.

Your help is immensely appreciated!

Chandra

Hi

Did you restrict your _SYS_BIC calc view with a analytic privilege. If yes you need to grant this too through a role

Hello Raghavendra,

Thanks for the quick reply!

I have removed the analytical privileges and tried again. Still, getting the insufficient privilege error. I am able to see data in classical environment.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Chandra

Hi Chandra

That should ideally work. We may have to look at indexserver trace to get more details.

Would it be possible for you to create a new Calculation view in Hana Studio without any privilege and try accessing the same through synonym in XSA

It's working for the new calculation view.

Thank you!
