Enterprise Search Doesn't Work for Material Purchasing Long Text

Hi, all.

We have a scenario where the search help in MM03 doesn't work for material purchasing text but does work for the sales one.

We've tried to compare both settings and may have found the difference in the Modeler (ESH_MODELER): the attribute for the material purchasing text is not set as containing human-readable text.

In turn, the material sales text seems to be fine.

The problem is that we don't know how to change it for the MDG_APPL software component as all the editing options are disabled, even when we give ourselves all the possible permissions.

Something else we notice and that could have some influence on this: comparing purchasing and sales, they are in different node levels. For instance, I don't see the plant as an attribute for material purchasing text. Again, this may have nothing to do with the search problem.

Please how do we set the material purchasing long text as containing human-readable text?

In this scenario, the search is based on a HANA connection.

You can try to create your own Software Component such as ZMDG_APPL then include the standard MDG_APPL under. Select now data model MATERIAL and node MATERIAL_PURCH_LTXT.

Try now to flag 'Cont. Text' for LONGTEXT attribute.

And this was exactly what I did after some investigation. But after saving my component and recreating the connectors, I'm still facing the same problem but now unsure if that missing flag could really be the source of our problems.

One thing I noticed was that the new table is empty. Am I doing anything wrong? But if it's basically a copy of the standard node, why doesn't my table get populated? On the other hand, the standard one still has the same number of entries.
