Hi Gurus
My client has the below situation.
According to the user, currently it is very tedious to update the counter reading in SAP PM (see steps below) and there is need to mass adjust/synchronize the value with the actual equipment. Is there an easier way to do the updating?
The current practice is
1) Go to IK17
2) Input in the Eqpt ID that needs to be checked
3) View the list of "Counter reading" values
4) Note down the faulty “measuring document” number
5) Go to IK12 & enter “measuring document” number
6) Go to measuring document at the top header, select function, reversal ind, set ( remember to copy down the MO number, date & time of the “measuring document” that you want to amend.)
7) Go to IK11 – Create new by changing the measuring time-date & time
😎 Paste the MO number in the text field
9) Enter the correct Counter Reading value, enter & save
if we want to change the measuring document, we have to do the above steps for each of the measuring document counters too.
We will have to do step 1 to step 6 for each of the “measuring document", after that do step 7 to step 9 to complete the measuring document change.
Note: Measuring Point is counter is active.
So now we are trying to identify if there is any easier way to handle is situation.
Request to provide your Valuable suggestions.
Thank you
Regards
Pradeep
Pradeep,
If you want to a reversal and a new measurement document in one step, then you will need to create a customer-specific transaction.
I still dont see why steps 1-6 cannot all be done via IK18??

Hi PeteA
Step 1-6 is to identify various other measuring documents. as per user there are multiple measuring documents that needs to be corrected.
Single case example: Current date - 11/06/2019
MD No. A - 11/05/2019 - Reading = 20 -> wrong entry & need to be changed to 25.
MD No. B - 12/05/2019 - Reading = 30
MD No. C - 13/05/2019 - Reading = 40
So now if i have to reverse MD No. A, system will automatically change MD No. B & C as well.
Once the above step is done, I will create a new MD No.(similar to A) with new reading 25 with date as 11/05 .
Will the system allow to create MD No. A with old date and with Measuring document for future date existing?
If not , do we need to recreate MD No. B & C again?
This is a tedious work as there will be quite of other corrections as well.
so the user is looking for a work around or simplified mechanism.
Pradeep
Pradeep,
Instead of using IK17 (display measurement documents), try using IK18 (change measurement documents). You will then be able to double-click into the relevant measurement documents and change as required.
That should cut out a few steps above.
